Agree Disagree
September 2018
Series Description
Trump, immigration, Supreme Court nominees, racial tensions, Republicans vs. Democrats… these are just some of the current issues that seem to be sparking more than just friendly debates in our country but, instead, all-out war! We can’t disagree without hating, name-calling, and indictments. In this series we’ll look how God’s Word calls Jesus’ followers to agree on the essentials and how we can disagree in love pointing people to Jesus in a divisive and angry culture.

Bring Your Own Jesus
June - July 2018
Series Description
We are a people of preference. We all have things we like and don't like. Foods, drinks, movie genres, and more. We have been trained to pick and choose the things we like about anything and everything. Unfortunately, that filters over into the way we think about Jesus and spirituality. We resonate with one of Jesus' teachings but we completely ignore another because we don't like it. In Bring Your Own Jesus, we'll be analyzing the TRUE Jesus; not the version that we've peiced together for ourselves.

FAQ
What payment methods can I use to give online?
White Oak currently accepts online donations by direct debit (Electronic Funds Transfer) and debit cards only.
What are the major advantages of electronic giving?
Electronic giving is all about convenience for you and consistency for White Oak. It eliminates frequent check writing and helps members stay on track with giving even when they are unable to attend services. The mission at White Oak benefits from consistent donations and a reduction in the volume of check/cash contributions that must be handled and manually processed each week.
How do I sign up for electronic giving?
Click here to sign up . A secure login enables you to make one-time donations, set up a recurring giving schedule, view personal donation history and print confirmations. If you would like to make donations without going online, please contact Jamie Huber at giving@thewocc.com to request a paper authorization form you can complete and return to the office.
Is electronic giving safe?
It is certainly less risky than writing checks or carrying cash. To process electronic donations, we use Vanco Payment Solutions—a highly regarded company that securely processes contributions for more than 15,000 churches and nonprofit organizations.
What can I use to prove I made a contribution?
If you make donations from the online giving page and entered your email address, you will be emailed a receipt. You can also access your giving history 24/7 by logging into your profile from the online giving page. If you submitted a paper authorization form, your bank statement will show an itemized list of electronic transactions that can be used as proof of your contributions.
How does a donation move from my bank account to the church’s bank account, and when?
For donations from a checking or savings account, money is electronically transferred from your bank account to the church’s bank account on the same day using the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network. For donations made by credit and debit card, money is electronically deposited into the church’s bank account without delay within 2-4 business days.
What if I still have questions?
If you have any questions about your giving, please contact Jamie Huber, Accounts Receivables Assistant, at giving@thewocc.com.

Did He Just Say That? July 2020
In this series we will look at some hard sayings that Jesus makes in the book of Matthew. When we talk about Jesus, grace and love are the biggest ideas that get the most attention, but Jesus also taught other ideas that many believers unintentionally ignore because these teachings don’t fit into the way we want to live our lives. This series will discuss those teachings of Jesus that are hard to hear.

Full of It November 2020
There are three main questions which all of us ask in life: Who am I, Why am I here, and How am I to live? Of course, we have as many answers to those questions available to us as we do the means to find those answers. At any point we find ourselves full of lots of things which promise to tell us who we truly are, what our purpose is, and what we should be doing. Sex, good looks, money, popularity, success, talents, accumulated stuff, acceptance, and even religion. All of these promise a version of life that will fulfill us. But there is only one version of life which promises to fill every part of our being. This is the only promise which is guaranteed to every single one of us, every day, without fail.
The promise of Full Life comes to each of us from our Heavenly Father. Jesus tell us that there is a thief who comes into our lives bent on stealing, killing, and destroying. Instead, Jesus tells us that he comes to give us real lasting life; full life.
There are many voices claiming to lead us to experience full life. In this series, we want to learn what our Father’s voice sounds like so that we can be full of it. We want to determine what he says about who we are, why we are here, and how we are to live this life. When we learn to listen, trust, and follow God’s voice we will be on the path to abundantly full life.
Get Off Your Donkey

Description
As we approach Easter, we are going to be challenged to do OUR work for the kingdom because Jesus did HIS. Jesus was on a mission. He entered the city as a king, but after the triumphal entry, he got down and got to work. If Jesus took action to fulfill the mission, we should to.

Hope Starts Here December 2020
In the series Hope starts here we will look at how the birth of Jesus ushered in hope for the world. The Old Testament is filled with prophecies about the coming messiah . How God was at work to bring salvation to all people.
HOPE STARTS HERE. We don’t have to wait for it.
The Christmas story is the epicenter of hope; God sending his son (Jesus being born) is the origin of hope, and the reason for the hope we have today.
There were 400 years of silence leading up to Jesus’ birth - years of tension, uncertainty, uneasiness, and doubt, wondering “Where is God in the midst of this? Has He abandoned us?” Everyone was looking for hope and waiting for change.
“I bring you good news that will cause great joy” (Luke 2:10)
What was it like to be a shepherd back then? What would cause a Magi/shepherd to travel days and days to see this thing?
It starts here, and it starts now.

Job
February 2019
Series Description
Job, one of the more perplexing books in the Bible. People have discussed the challenges for years. It seems that the overarching teaching of the book is Don’t Give Up! When you see this man overwhelmed by sudden calamities, Don’t Give Up on God! When you see this man misrepresented by his friends, Don’t Give Up on Others! And, when you see that this man is nearly at the end of his rope, Don’t Give Up on Yourself! Job’s story gives us a rare glimpse behind the scene, in heaven, and reminds us that God knows our every step! Don’t Give Up!

Love One Another September 2020
This has been a trying season! Every issue has been polarized and politicized forcing people to pick sides. Followers of Jesus should be known for their love. We should be in middle of culture to engage in relationships and conversations that point people to Jesus because of our love. (John 13:35-34).

Monsters October 2020
In this series we will be looking at the sin that creeps in and destroys relationships. Whether it’s found in us, found in others or a combination of both – sin is the thing that causes relationships to deteriorate. As we examine these four relationship monsters, we will talk about how we avoid these behaviors in our self and how we deal with these behaviors when they are found in those around us.

Moving Mountains January 2021
He said to them, “ Because of your little faith. For, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2
There have been many people throughout history who have been dreamers. People like Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Martin Luther King and Henry Ford. These people have pushed the boundaries of what was possible or right and created a world full of hope, drive and freedom. However, as a people, we often find that many of us are not dreamers in the same way.
When we are asked what we dream about, we find that our ideas and approaches are far less audacious and powerful. Many believers find themselves focusing so much on the day-to-day things of their life, that looking towards the future or towards something bigger often isn’t even a possibility. Particularly, when we are faced with obstacles to our faith and our mission, we find we often spend more time focusing on the mountain than focusing on the one who can move mountains.
In this series, we will explore the idea that God wants to move mountains and He most wants to use us to help make that happen. We will focus on the idea that God wants to move things through us not for us. Jesus dealt with this in his time as his own disciples didn’t have enough faith to do the things that Jesus told them and equipped them to do. We are often the same. God will equip us for mission, and we need to have the faith to believe that through His strength, we can do everything he asks of us.
This series will also discuss the things that God calls for in my life versus the things that I/we want to see done in our:

Some are designed to take you through the entire Bible in a year. Some are more topical or devotional in nature. Serving opportunities in the Community
Serving opportunities in our World
You don't have to go far out the door to find people who need to feel hope and find God! We encourage individuals, families, Life Groups and Adult Bible Fellowships to find ways to serve and impact our communities. Some of our organized serving opportunities include:
Helping Hands
Throughout the week teams of two or more volunteers seek to be the hands and feet of our Lord in meeting the urgent physical needs of those in our church and community who are unable to do for themselves. This may include widows, senior citizens, divorced, disabled, etc… people who have household needs that they are unable to take care of on their own. Our teams of volunteers seek to lovingly provide the help those of our church family and community need in order to live normal lives. If you have “handyman” skills or are able to do yard work, or simply want to be a helper in these areas, this may be an opportunity for you to serve others, form friendships, and follow God’s path for your life at the same time. Life Groups, Adult Bible Fellowship Groups, and Student groups are encouraged to participate.
Sign up to serve with Helping Hands.
Complete this form if you are seeking help from Helping Hands.
Whiz Kids (Ross and Colerain Campus)

Serving in the church
Serving in the community
In 1980 White Oak Christian Church sent Mathew & Mary Mathai back to their homeland to become missionaries. The challenge was huge! But God blessed their work and because of their faithfulness, more than 4000 people have been won to Christ through this ground-breaking ministry.
The mission began humbly with just Mathew and Mary and a faithful Christian woman in Chickballapur called Mrs. Solomon. They began visiting with people, making friends, helping with basic medical needs and showing the love of Christ. Today Christhia Seva Mission employs 26 preachers, a nurse, a driver, an administrator and a director of women's ministry. Each week these faithful servants minister in over 300 villages in and around Chickballapur, India.
Over the years we have built 7 church buildings. Others churches meet in rented facilities. Each evening pastors travel by motorcycle to conduct worship services in rural villages because the people cannot travel to church buildings.
In addition to church planting, Christhia Seva Mission continues to help meet medical needs, assists children with school books and supplies, helps provide homes for the poor, and feeds the Least of These (Christian brothers and sisters who have no means of support). A sewing ministry helps young women learn a skill with which to support herself and her family. Sponsors also assist deserving children with tuition for higher education.
Ministry work in Burma/Myanmar & Student Sponsorship Program
The ministry of Burma Christian Evangelism (BCE) has been supported by White Oak Christian Church since 1989 when members James and Khono Khamlum returned to their native land after graduating from Cincinnati Christian University. They have trained hundreds of Christian leaders in Myanmar who, in turn, have planted numerous churches. They also started a church among Nepalese refugees. James passed away but Khono continues ministering in so many ways! Most significantly, she helps produce a radio program to reach the Rawang people in Northern Myanmar and it is broadcast daily in two Rawang languages. It is the only Christian broadcast among the Rawang people in the world!
Other work in Myanmar has been blessed by White Oak. Christian Mission for Myanmar (CMM) supports youth camps for the remote Naga tribes in Northwest Myanmar. They also have an orphanage and the founder, Daniel Mawyio, is a professor and vice-president in a small Bible College.
Also, Myanmar Bible Institute (MBI) and it’s current President have been blessed by contributions from our church. You can can involved here in the United States by sponsoring a student from MBI.
Sponsor a student at MBI - You can change the future for a rising missionary/church planter in Myanmar for $40 per month
Sponsorship is available for you to contribute to the future of a rising missionary/church planter in Myanmar for $40 per month. A college education creates hope and opportunity for now and future generations as it equips each graduate to help populate heaven through a lifetime of diligent work. For $40 per month, you will provide tuition, food, and housing for a student and offset the cost of wiring the funds into Myanmar. The Myanmar Bible Institute is a four-year college. It has classes for 8 months and in the four months between class times, the students do practical ministry working in the field of service. The funds will be managed through the administration of the school year-round.
The Myanmar Bible Institute (MBI) offers bachelors and master’s degrees in Biblical Studies and Ministry. It is strategically strengthening Christian witness among the majority tribe of Buddhist friends and neighbors. Its graduates have also pioneered new ministry through several other tribal groups. Since its inception in 1984, MBI graduates have planted more than 70 churches in Myanmar and 6 churches in other countries, including 2 in the United States.
Once you begin your contribution, you will receive a bio and contact information for the student you are sponsoring. Even though we are crossing cultural, language and communication lines, we hope that in the future there can be an email connection for a monthly email exchange with each student. We haven’t yet solved that problem, but we are working on it. Technical challenges in Myanmar and communicating translations into English are the primary challenges.
Below are the directions on how to get started!
1. Go to http://www.echochurch.org/give (The forwarding agent)
2. Select Myanmar Bible Institute Student Scholarships and enter the monthly amount.
3. You can schedule payment on the next page. You can set it to automatically pull $40 each month from your account and choose your end date. (We hope you will commit to all four years for a completed college education.)

ELDERS
White Oak we select from among ourselves a group of men to be our elders. We expect them to be men of faith, vision, and strength who will guide the church in ways that will honor Jesus Christ and glorify God. According to the Bible, Elders are to look after the spiritual welfare of the congregation, to shepherd and lead with a vision of what God can do through this congregation. These qualifications are described in 1Timothy 3 1-7 and Titus 1: 5-9
You can contact the elders at elders@thewocc.com .

Our number one purpose in Children’s Ministry is to introduce children to Jesus! The most important decision your child will ever make is the decision to follow Jesus and become a Christian. If your child is going into the 3rd-5th grades and is close to being ready to make a lifetime commitment to Jesus, you are encouraged you to bring them to the Faith Shift for Kids
During the class, your child will learn what the Bible says about sin, grace, forgiveness, and baptism. Parent reinforcement of the lessons will be encouraged and helpful review information will be provided each week. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their child. If your child will be in 2nd grade, parent attendance is required. It is important that your child attend each session.
Faith Shift for Kids is a 3-week class and meets periodically throughout the year immediately after the second service. Fill out the form below for details about the next class.
