Nate’s Toy Box

Nate’s Toy Box’s mission statement has always been “to enhance the childhood experience of children in the Northwest Local School District area.” Since beginning in 2006, we feel we have accomplished this through the toys at Christmas and by providing chapter books to all second graders, in both public and private schools, in the spring.  Nate’s Toy Box has been an extraordinary community effort involving businesses, churches, schools and hundreds of giving individuals.

This year Nate’s Toy Box is going to be very different from years past due to COVID-19 requirements. Rather than collecting toys, we will prepare Blessing Bags to be given to each family designed to encourage family-oriented activities and childhood education. These will be handed out to each family on the day of distribution, Saturday, December 12, 2020. The Blessing Bags will contain family board games, puzzles, card games, books, fleece blankets and toiletries. The parents will also be given a gift card to purchase toys for each child.

Nate’s Toy Box is partnering with SON Ministries and Side by Side this holiday season.  These are both organizations that directly impact families in the Northwest Local School District area.

To fill the Blessing Bags, Nate’s Toy Box is asking for donations of the following items for various age groups:

  • 1) Family board games (such as Sorry, Monopoly Junior, Jenga, Yahtzee, etc.)
  • 2) Card games (such as Uno, Phase 10, Crazy Eights, card game packs, etc.)
  • 3) Books (new or gently used for infants through teenagers)
  • 4) Puzzles (up to 350 piece puzzles)
  • 5) Gift cards ($15 gift cards to Walmart or Target)
  • 6) Cash donations (for purchase of above items)

Nate’s Toy Box is a ministry of White Oak Christian Church, a 501c3 charitable organization. Checks can be made payable to White Oak Christian Church (please put Nate’s Toy Box in the memo space on the check – do not make checks payable to Nate’s Toy Box) and mail to:
