When I was a kid Easter was always by far the most boring of the holidays. Halloween had candy and costumes. Thanksgiving had the delicious food that you only had once per year. Christmas was a season of yummy treats, fun movies, holiday traditions, presents, and church events that highlighted the celebration. At White Oak, missions have never been a side project. They’ve always been part of our DNA.
But as our church continues to grow—and as more people join us who didn’t grow up around church—it’s worth slowing down and clearly answering a basic question: What do we actually mean when we talk about “missions”?

The post high school years can be very stressful as a young adult. I recall feeling a bit lost. I was no longer in the same rhythm of schooling which had been my life for 12 years. I wasn’t yet working in a career field that I felt passionate about, and I was learning how to navigate friendships and dating relationships.
