What happens when over 60 women gather together at White Oak?
God moves in BIG ways.
On March 3 and 4, women of White Oak and their friends gathered together at our Colerain campus to hear Psalm 23 brought to life, verse by verse. Moving stories, times of worship, and opportunities to gather in community filled the weekend. One woman commented “It truly helped me re-ground myself in my faith and to remember that things may not always happen the way we want them to.”
“It truly helped me re-ground myself in my faith and to remember that things may not always happen the way we want them to.”
Women were challenged to answer questions like God, what do you want me to know? God, what do you want me to do? Women left the weekend with hearts and minds filled with compassion and opportunity. Psalm 23 took on a whole new meaning that weekend!
I want to invite you to read this familiar Psalm. Reflect on it. Below the Psalm are a few thoughts and questions to reflect on this Psalm. I encourage you to go slow, read the psalm multiple times. Invite God's Spirit to guide you through Psalm 23.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
