A message from our elders.
Over the past year, our elders have carefully reviewed the current White Oak bylaws and asked an important question: do these documents still accurately describe who we are, how we believe the church should be led, and how we believe White Oak should function as we move into the future? What follows is their answer — the most significant revision to our bylaws in more than fifty years.
We're not asking you to simply read this and vote. We want you to understand it. Below, you can read the current bylaws and the proposed revision side by side, or switch to see exactly what's been added and removed. Below you'll find an FAQ section to help answer questions you might have and if something raises a question, bring it to one of our upcoming informational meetings or reach out to an elder directly — we'd rather you ask than wonder.
Join us for the congregational vote on November 15.

Changing bylaws is an important decision for any church.
The proposed bylaws represent an effort to provide a clear and sustainable framework for White Oak's future while continuing to affirm what has always been at the center:
-
Jesus Christ is Lord.
-
Scripture is our ultimate authority.
-
We are called to be His people.
-
Our purpose is to faithfully participate in His mission.
We encourage every member to read the proposed bylaws, review this FAQ, ask questions, participate in the Q&A and prayerfully consider the proposal before the congregational vote.
