From Shells to Masterpieces: Embracing Your Unique Gifts for God's Work

Updated: Oct 18, 2023

Happy Summer Everyone from the Women’s Ministry team at WOCC In June, the Women’s Ministry hosted a “Ladies Craf-Tea” where women enjoyed a time of fellowship, creativity and learning from God’s word based on Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece… created anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Each woman received a bag of shells and various other materials with which they created their own “masterpiece” on a 5 x 7 canvas. This hands-on activity beautifully illustrated how God has given each of us a specific set of gifts and talents to serve Him by using our unique abilities to serve others.

WOCC also hosted two workshops on Spiritual Gifts to help equip people by learning about the various spiritual gifts. How about you? Have you been able to identify your distinctive God given gifts and talents? You can check out some online resources to learn about and discover what your gifts might be: You can share your results if you like with WOCC or explore places to use your gifts here: Summer is a great time to take inventory; explore your hobbies and interests and see if they could be turned into ministry work for the Kingdom in some way. EVERYBODY has been given “talents” by our Creator to be used for His glory! Pray and ask Him to reveal yours, and then offer up a willingness to be used. You will be amazed at what doors of opportunity He opens up to you! The Women’s Ministry team is looking to plan a service project for the fall, so keep your eyes open for details in the coming months.
