Losing Life to Find It - Friday, March 20

Mark 8:34–35 (Click to access the full text.)

Jesus speaks plainly - the path to life runs through surrender. This truth feels counterintuitive because we are taught to protect, secure, and preserve ourselves at all costs.

The cross confronts our definitions of success and safety. Following Jesus means trusting that what we surrender is not lost, but transformed. When we loosen our grip on self-preservation, we make room for resurrection life.

This season invites us to ask not only what we are holding onto but why.

Reflection Question: What might Jesus be asking you to lay down in order to find true life?

Practice: Name one thing you are holding tightly and offer it to God in prayer.

As we move closer to Holy Week, we’re adding something special to our daily texts.

Beginning Saturday, March 28 - Saturday, April 4, you’ll receive an additional message at 3:00 PM each day. These messages will include a short Holy Week Video from Nathan Hinkle, our Lead Pastor and are designed to walk you through the meaning and events of Holy Week.

You will continue to receive the regular 7:00 AM devotional Monday–Friday. We invite you to continue the habit you've built while expanding your preparation with the short afternoon videos.

Please use Saturday to catch up and further reflect on the devotions from this week. We invite you to join us Sunday morning for in person worship services. You can learn more at www.thewocc.com
