Setting Our Faces - Wednesday, February 18

“When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face toward Jerusalem.”

This season begins not with a command, but with a choice. Luke tells us that Jesus set his face toward Jerusalem. He knew what awaited Him there. The cross, suffering, and death and yet He moved forward with conviction, determination, and trust in the Father.

To “set one’s face” is not about rushing or striving. It is about direction. Jesus did not wander toward the cross; He chose the road that would bring life to the world.

As we prepare for Easter, we are invited to do the same, not by saving ourselves, but by aligning our hearts and lives with the way Jesus is already going. This is a season to pause, to look ahead, and to ask: Where am I headed?

Today, the invitation is simple. Before we change habits or make commitments, we choose a direction. We set our faces toward Jesus, trusting that He leads us toward life.

Reflection Question: What direction has your heart been moving lately? Where might God be inviting you to turn your face toward Him?

Prayer: Jesus, as I begin this journey, help me set my face toward You. Lead me in Your way. Amen.
