As Christians, most would agree that “life is better when done together”. Scripture even admonishes us not to forsake gathering together - “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near” Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT. On that note I’d like to share a WOW (Women Of Whiteoak) update with you.

Women’s Ministry (WM) launched again in October 2022 with the recorded version of Jenny Allen’s “IF” gathering, and this spring WM will host the live version of “IF” at the Colerain Campus March 3-4. (IF planning committee pictured below) We also have a Spring Tea planned for Saturday May 6th at the Ross Campus. The heart behind Women’s Ministry is to connect women of the church to each other and provide opportunities for them to GROW by being:
• Grounded and growing in Christ
• Relational in building strong connections
• Outreach oriented in serving others
• Witnesses to family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors
Our Aim is to equip and encourage women in their walk with the Lord and enable them to use their God given gifts and talents to reach out and bring others into the Kingdom. “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” 1 Peter 4:10 NLT. We all have strengths and talents to use for His glory. Nothing is too small or insignificant for God to employ - look at what Jesus did with 5 loaves and two fish!

Ministry doesn't require a grandiose scope with a huge committee, extravagant budget, or sensational promotions. Instead, we can live out the "one another" commands found in the Christian Bible. When we pray and ask God to reveal opportunities in each day, we can extend kindness and the love of Jesus to one another - when we slow down and are intentional about making others a priority. We can put our phones down in the doctor's office and strike up a conversation with someone who's maybe nervous about getting test results. We can look that frazzled cashier in the eye, smile, and offer an encouraging word, showing compassion to one another. We can take cookies over and visit with an elderly neighbor, honoring one another. The possibilities are endless when we invite God to shake us up, open our eyes, and allow His Spirit to move in us! If you are a WOW (woman of Whiteoak), we invite you to register for the upcoming “IF” gathering in March (click the “IF” box on the WOCC website) and mark your calendar now to attend the Ladies Tea on May 6th - more details to come. Let's grow together in Christ and be witnesses to one another, our families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
