Making Space for True Worship - Monday, March 30

Matthew 21:12–13 (Click to access the full text.)

Jesus enters the temple and overturns tables. He frees the animals, confronts the money changers, and names the corruption that has crept into a sacred space. His actions are not random anger, they are a passionate call to restore worship.

The temple was meant to be a place of prayer and encounter with God, but it had become crowded with profit, power, and exclusion. Jesus clears the space so people can draw near again.

Holy Week begins with this unsettling truth: sometimes love disrupts what no longer reflects God’s heart. Jesus still clears temples - not buildings, but hearts, habits, and systems that distract from genuine worship.

Reflection Question: What might Jesus want to clear away to make more room for God in your life?

Practice: Take a moment to ask God, “What needs to be turned over so worship can be restored in me?”
