Preparing Our Hearts and Minds for Easter
Beginning on Ash Wednesday, we’re inviting you to join Set Our Faces, a daily devotional journey designed to help you intentionally prepare your heart for Easter.
Each weekday at 7 AM, you’ll receive a short devotional by text to guide you in prayer and reflection as we move toward the cross and the resurrection together.

Just a daily rhythm to help you slow down and focus your heart as we approach Easter.
Why “Set Our Faces”?
Luke 9:51 tells us, “As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.” (NIV)
Some translations say He set His face toward Jerusalem.
Jesus knew what was ahead. He knew the cost. He knew the cross.
And He moved forward with conviction and resolve.
He did not drift toward the cross. He walked toward it intentionally.
At White Oak, we believe Easter is not just a day on the calendar. It is a season we are invited into.
Just as Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem, we want to set our faces toward the cross and the empty tomb.
Why Preparation Matters
The resurrection is powerful. But it becomes even more meaningful when we’ve slowed down long enough to reflect on the sacrifice that made it possible.
Easter is not only about celebration. It is about repentance. It is about gratitude. It is about worship. It is about hope that transforms us now and anchors us for eternity.
As apprentices of Jesus—being formed into His image for the sake of others—we believe intentional seasons of prayer and reflection shape us. They realign our hearts and help us move toward Jesus with clarity instead of drifting through another busy season.
Preparation is not about adding pressure. It is about creating space.
Space for God to work in you.
Space to examine your heart.
Space to remember what Jesus has done.
